P1 FUELS

P1 Fuels has signed a contract with CRI, a global leader in clean methanol technology, for delivery of an e-methanol production unit. The collaboration focuses on integrating CRI's innovative Emissions-to-Liquids (ETL) technology with P1's proprietary methanol to gasoline technology to produce low cost e-fuels that can be used in cars without engine modification.

SAILBOAT

Commissioned in 2023 in China, the Sailboat plant recycles 150,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide annually. It manufactures 100,000 tonnes of sustainable methanol every year, used in the production of olefins and other chemical derivatives. It is the second-largest and most efficient CO₂-to-methanol plant in the world.

SHUNLI

Producing over 110,000 tonnes of sustainable methanol a year, the Shunli plant in China is the largest CO₂-to-methanol plant in the world. Operational since 2022, the plant captures 160,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions a year, contributing to cleaner steel and fuel production.

GEORGE OLAH

Started up in 2012 in Iceland, the George Olah plant was the first industrial-scale production facility ever built that utilizes carbon dioxide waste gas for methanol production. Recycling 5,500 tonnes of carbon dioxide annually, the plant is an at-scale demonstration of the technical, economic and environmental benefits of CRI's Emissions-to-Liquids technology.

FINNFJORD

Located in Finnfjord, Norway, this upcoming project is set to produce 100,000 tonnes of e-methanol annually. Using CO₂ captured from a local ferrosilicon plant and renewable hydrogen to produce this methanol, the plant aims to become the first facility of its kind to achieve carbon neutrality.

The CirclEnergy project transforms surplus renewable power across Europe into methanol. MefCO₂ converted waste CO₂ emissions from a German power plant and hydrogen produced from surplus electrical energy into methanol. The project demonstrated the technology's adaptability to heterogeneous CO₂ sources and load-following capability for renewable power integration, producing 1 tonne of methanol per day before concluding operations in 2019.
