The nation is making big strides in cleaning up air pollution and addressing climate change.
New steps by Congress and the Biden administration are helping secure clean air for every community and avoid the worst impacts of climate change:
- The Biden administration finalized strong new policies to clean up sources of pollution, including:
- New measures to make future cars and trucks much cleaner
- Stronger limits on toxic mercury emissions from power plants
- Limits on carbon pollution from power plants to address climate change
- Stronger national limits on particle pollution
- Tough new limits on methane pollution from the oil and gas industry
- Congress passed historic climate and clean air investments in the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act and the Inflation Reduction Act, and funding is now rolling out to support clean school buses, tax credits for electric vehicles, charging stations, clean electricity and more.
But this progress is under attack. Right now, there are efforts by some members of Congress to undo these investments and safeguards against pollution.
The Lung Association is calling on our leaders in Congress to stand up to attacks by big polluters and their allies, and defend the clean air progress we have made. Lives are on the line, and there is no time to lose.
Join us in telling Congress: Defend Clean Air Progress.
