Pallone Sounds Alarm on Trump’s Illegal Executive Order Withholding Federal Infrastructure and Climate Investments

Energy and Commerce Committee Ranking Member Frank Pallone, Jr. (D-NJ) released the following statement today blasting President Trump’s Executive Order “Unleashing American Energy,” which directs federal agencies to bypass the law and withhold Bipartisan Infrastructure Law and Inflation Reduction Act funds:

“Congress passed landmark infrastructure and climate investments, and now President Trump is attempting to illegally withhold that money from American businesses, communities, and workers. While Trump has a long history of stiffing contractors who worked on his failed business ventures, the American government must uphold its commitments.

“This action would cost countless Americans their jobs. The funding he is attempting to claw back is a direct investment in American manufacturing and homegrown American energy – investments that people across the country are counting on. I will not sit by while Trump robs Americans of jobs and promised investments in their communities.”
