“Biden has a negative record in the eyes of most Americans,” Young writes. “And nothing he does seems to change it.”
Young examines the polling, which shows that Biden’s approval rating has been dropping steadily ever since he wrapped up the Democratic nomination for president four years ago.
Meanwhile, Donald Trump’s poll numbers were not hurt by his conviction in the New York hush money case, so Biden cannot count on the conviction to give him a boost. Biden’s only hope is to attack Trump and drive his numbers even lower than his own. “Increasingly, it looks like Biden’s only hope of winning is seeking to make Trump lose.”
