The United States continues to facilitate peace negotiation discussions between Russia and Ukraine, but top U.S. officials, including President Trump, warned that if substantial progress is not achieved soon, Washington will pull back from its mediating role. 

Trump contended that Russia’s President Vladimir Putin might not want to achieve peace in Eastern Europe after all, following a series of Kremlin strikes on Ukrainian cities in recent days.

Marco Rubio says ‘only solution’ for war in Ukraine is negotiation where both ‘give up something’

Secretary of State Marco Rubio said Sunday that the “only solution” for the war in Ukraine is a negotiation where both Russia and Ukraine “give up something.”

“There is no military solution to this war,” Rubio told NBC News’s Kristen Welker on “Meet the Press.” “The only solution to this war is a negotiated settlement where both sides are going to have to give up something they claim to want, and are going to have to give the other side something they wish they didn’t.”

Schumer says he has ‘great fear’ Trump will ‘cave’ to Putin

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) said he has a “great fear” that President Trump will “cave” to Russian President Vladimir Putin over ending the war in Ukraine.

Schumer joined CNN’s “State of the Union” on Sunday, where host Dana Bash asked him about the latest developments between Trump, Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky as the effort to wrap up the war drags on.

Rollins says price drop for eggs is ‘coming’

Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins said a price drop for eggs has already hit some parts of the country, but for others, it is “coming” soon.

Rollins joined CNN’s “State of the Union” on Sunday, where she highlighted a major economic indicator: the price of eggs.

“When the President was sworn in, the price of eggs had increased 237 percent under the last administration,” Rollins said.

Sanders: ‘What Democrats lack now is a vision for the future’

Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) said on Sunday that Democrats do not have “a vision for the future.”

“You have Democrats appropriately, and I’m working with them, talking about Trump’s movement toward authoritarianism, vigorously opposing the so-called reconciliation bill to give over a trillion dollars in tax breaks for the 1 percent and make massive cuts to Medicaid, nutrition and housing, opposing what Musk is doing to dismember the Social Security Administration and the Veterans Administration, making it hard for our veterans to get decent health care or benefits on time,” Sanders told NBC News’s Kristen Welker on “Meet the Press.”
